From Runway to Everyday Style

Miami Swim Week 2021

Written by Alexis Calcavecchia

Miami Swim Week 2021 consisted of women of all ages, body types and backgrounds. A great swimsuit is essential in any wardrobe, but it doesn’t only have to be worn at the beach. Exceptional style is the ability to take a single piece of clothing and create multiple looks with it.

Versatility is everything, and there are so many ways you can transform a swimsuit, or cover up into an everyday piece. Below, I’ve broken down some of my favorite looks from Miami Swim Week 2021, and how to take them from the runway, to everyday style.

MIAMI, FLORIDA – JULY 9: Alessandra Sierra walks for TIKIYOGI® Sustainable Eco Fashion Reveal + Runway Show at Kimpton Angler’s South Beach on July 9, 2021 in Miami, Florida. (Photo by Garrett Hopkins).

Alessandra wears TIKIYOGI® White Sand Destination Butterfly Ruffles Cotton Dress. The dress is ethically crafted and created in Bali, Indonesia. Inspired by the island’s natural beauty, and lifestyle. Style it with your favorite raffia beach bag, gold jewelry and sandals for a relaxed look. To dress it up, add gold accessories and pair it with nude heels, and a clutch for a night out.

Animal print is everywhere right now, and although it’s a major trend it’s also a very timeless pattern. This gorgeous Norma Kamali Marissa one-piece is worn by Haley Kalil. Style it with a black leather mini skirt, or black wide leg trousers with black stiletto heels. Add a bold lip, and you’re ready to go.

Medara wears TIKIYOGI® Romancing. This one-shoulder, bright pink one-piece suit adds a pop of color, and subtle sexiness with its asymmetrical cut-out. The eco-conscious brand designs their suits with comfort and style in mind. All of their suits are made of ECONYL®, regenerated Nylon ensuring breathability and stretch. Style it with high-waisted denim shorts, white open-toe block heeled sandals and your favorite white shoulder bag.

Hues of blue are gorgeous for Summer. Mother and Daughter, Aileen Iturralde and Elle Luciana Jodelsohn take the runway wearing pieces from TIKIYOGI’s Destination Capsule Collection. Each piece is made of 100% Italian Cotton. Style the blue Destination Villa Cotton dress with wedge espadrilles, and a round rattan crossbody bag for a boho, but chic look.

Green is the color of the summer, and it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Saje Nicole wears the Coquillage Electric Green bikini top by Fisch. Style it under an oversized blazer to add the perfect pop of color. The key is to keep the bikini top as the main focal point, while the rest of the look remains more of a neutral tone.

David Skye wears TIKIYOGI® Destination Collection Italian Tailored Linen Pants, and shirt. This pairing is a timeless essential for men as it can be styled down, or dresses up. Style the shirt with tailored shorts and sneakers, or wear as pictured with sandals, or loafers for a relaxing evening out.

Amanda Kay wears the Monica Hansen Beachwear Bardot Spaghetti Strap One-Piece. It’s the perfect color for both Spring and Summer. Style it as a bodysuit, paired with a denim short or straight leg jean, nude heels, a shoulder bag, your favorite gold drop earrings and a straw bucket hat.

Versatility shines in the reversible TIKIYOGI® Paris Rosa bikini worn by Elizabeth Barillas. Elizabeth wears it on the solid, light gray side, but you can also wear it as a solid hot pink. Style it with a nude, black or white maxi skirt, gold hoop earrings and a shoulder bag.

Mixed prints can be intimidating, but when styled correctly they are head turning. Sierra Bolen, wears TIKIYOGI® statement red floral bikini, with navy blue and white polka dots. Add an additional red lip to complete the look.
